EECS Undergraduate Certification Undergraduate Advising

Certification Requirements by Major

Please note that if a student completes the requirements outlined below they will be certified into the major.

Certification in more than one of the following majors is not allowed: BA Computer Science, BS Computer Science, BS Software Engineering.

The certification application is open three times each year and is entirely online.  The application is available March 1 to May 1,  July 1 to August 1, and October 1 to December 1. Notification of certification is sent out shortly after grades post each semester, our goal is to send the notice within two weeks of grades being available. The application can be found at advise.eecs.wsu.edu. While students cannot enroll in 300/400 level CptS and EE courses until they are officially certified; the School makes every attempt possible to ensure enough seats are available in core degree courses for all certifying students. Students who apply for certification for an EECS major or minor must agree to the Information Presented in the Certification Application.

Transfer students may apply for certification prior to starting at WSU if their transfer work meets all of the requirements and will be notified at the same time as all other applicants. For more information about how your courses transfer please visit this link: https://transfercredit.wsu.edu/
